A venetian blind is an arrangement of flat thin aluminium strips connected via ladder shaped cords which hold the slats in place and allow them to rotate. By using the tilt control, the slats can be rotated to allow them to overlap completely, blocking out the sunlight or completely open or lifted up to give an unobstructed view of the outside world. This system of shading also enables you to decide how much light enters the room and its direction.
