A venetian blind is an arrangement of flat thin aluminium strips connected via ladder shaped cords which hold the slats in place and allow them to rotate. By using the tilt control, the slats can be rotated to allow them to overlap completely, blocking out the sunlight or completely open or lifted up to give an unobstructed view of the outside world. This system of shading also enables you to decide how much light enters the room and its direction.

Venetian blind slats are available in four sizes, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm, the most popular being the 25mm, combining this with the flexible fitting positions of either being fitted inside or outside of the window recess or top fixed to the ceiling or using special extension brackets enabling them to be fitted to upvc conservatories and avoiding the window handles, they are an extremely popular and flexible choice of window covering.
